Qatar, though one of the smallest countries in
the Middle East has played a prominent role in
the world economic and political scenes of late.
Over the last two decades, it has emerged to be
a strong and vibrant nation with all the
facilities of an international metropolis. Oil
is the mainstay of the economy and the country
has the third highest per capita income in the
world. The total population is about 625,000.
The people of Qatar are friendly and make
visitors feel very welcome. Arabic is the
official language, although English is widely
used. Qatar is an Islamic state, and it’s
traditions are based on poetry and songs, and
amazing art is created through weaving.
The capital of Qatar, Doha, is situated halfway
down the east coast of the Peninsula. It is an
important cultural and commercial center and
enjoys excellent communications with the outside
world through its modern seaport, airport, and
telephone links.
In addition to sports and tourism, with its
state-of-the-art meeting facilities, Qatar is
well positioned to host events of any size. In
addition to the first-class hotels and
facilities available, Qatar offers business
travelers beautiful scenery and wonderful
shopping in a relaxing environment – a wonderful
combination of business and pleasure.
The ruler His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa
Al Thani has been a patron of education and is
determined to adopt international educational
standards and norms in Qatar. Under his able
leadership, Qatar has witnessed a great upheaval
in the field of education and Qatar can now
boast of both schools and universities of
international standards. It soon hopes to be an
educational destination for people from all over
the world.
But, pursuit of excellence is a hard aim to
achieve and the people in Qatar still wish for
an institution that will instill in not only the
Indian children but also in children of other
nationalities, a burning desire for knowledge
and values in life.
